"Inmaculada" is a huge travertine marble sculpture located at the front of the Cathedral in Resistencia, The City of the Sculptures.

Jaguar: Natural Monument - Yaguareté: Monumento Natural

The Jaguar was declared Natural Monument of the Province of Chaco by Law Nº 4306 in June 1996. We called it Yaguareté (aboriginal guaranitic name) Although considered extinct in my region, it was recently discovered that there are some of them living in the wild at Pilcomayo National Park. Come to see the nature of my province. And of course, to enjoy our 545 sculptures in the streets of my city, Resistencia !!

En Junio de 1996,  el Yaguareté fue declarado Monumento Natural  de la Provincia del Chaco. Aunque se consideraban extintos en mi región, recientemente se descubrió que hay algunos de ellos viviendo en estado salvaje en el Parque Nacional Pilcomayo. Vengan a conocer la naturaleza de  mi Provincia. Y por supuesto, a disfrutar de nuestras 545 esculturas en las calles de la ciudad de Resistencia !!

Good news for The City of Sculptures. Last night it was installed the sculpture “Soporte” by our beloved sculptor Fabriciano  Gomez. Located just in front of the brand new premises of the Professional Council of Economic Sciences, it becomes the outdoor sculpture number 545, and of course, a new cultural heritage for my city of Resistencia.    Bravo!  and let’s go for more...

Resistencia, the Capital City of Chaco Province, is located in the North East of the Argentine Republic. Mostly known as “The City of Sculptures”, it seems like an outdoor art exhibit where the inhabitants can daily enjoy and appreciate the cultural richness of their environment. In recent decades, the city has proudly become the home of an International Biennial of Sculpture which gathers prestigious sculptors from all over the world. After that event, the pieces of art are located in downtown sidewalks and public parks becoming the cultural heritage of a modern city highly committed to art.
